Artist Contract for The Gray Gallery
Terms & Conditions
SALES OF ART
All sales of art will be processed through The Gray Gallery. 60% of the sale will go to the artists; 40% will go to The Gray Gallery. Gallery work sold must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show and may be picked up by purchasers after the exhibition has closed unless otherwise discussed with the artist. The Gray Gallery will mail a check for sold items to each artist within two weeks after the de-installation of the exhibition.
The Gray Gallery will host a reception with light refreshments. All artists are strongly encouraged to attend the reception.
The Gray Gallery will complete professional, quality hanging, art labels, price lists, promotional materials, sales transitions and gallery hours. The artist is expected to provide a press release two months in advance to insure quality publicity materials. If the Artist is not satisfied, it must be in writing and any changes should be agreed upon and made before the opening. The Artist can not make changes or alterations to the exhibition, during the exhibition.
MARKETINGThe Gray Gallery is responsible for writing and publishing any press materials. The artist is responsible for providing images and information. To further promote the exhibition artists are strongly encouraged to engage their mailing lists and social media contacts.
DELIVERY AND PICKUP OF ARTWORK
Works must arrive ready to install/ hang. Delivered artwork will be examined by The Gray Gallery staff, if there are any damages the staff will report damages within one week to the artist. The Gray Gallery holds the rights to not exhibit works that are not gallery-ready, that differ significantly from prior images, suffer substandard presentation or are replicas of the original artwork. The Gray Gallery does not pay for shipping, unless prior arrangements have been made. Artwork can not be picked up prior to the closing of the exhibition.
INSURANCE & LIABILITY
Artwork is insured only while on the premises of The Gray Gallery and is covered against theft and/or any natural disaster. Artists’ coverage is limited up to 50% of the fair market value of the artwork. The work must be documented by the The Gray Gallery to be eligible for insurance. The Gray Gallery offers to hang all artwork- if the artist hangs the artwork, they do so at their own risk.
AGREEMENT & RELEASE
The artist confirms he or she has read and agrees to the conditions set forth in this contract.
Permission is granted to The Gray Gallery and gallery visitors to photograph and/or use digital images of works for marketing, education, documentation or private purposes. The artist hereby releases and discharges representatives, employees and volunteers of The Gray Gallery from any and all claims occasioned by loss or damages of said work while in the possession of The Gray Gallery.
The breaking of any of the outlined terms above warrants an exhibition cancellation by The Gray Gallery and/or the Artist. For cancellations outside of this contract, there must be one month notice.
BY SUBMITTING THIS FORM, I AGREE TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OUTLINED HERE, IN THE ARTIST CONTRACT.
